If you cannot make it out tonight, Makers’ Market happens every Friday morning until Christmas at the Guild Hall, right beside Port Colborne’s City Hall on Charlotte Street.  Besides NonScents Soaps, there’s jewellery, quilts, pottery, baking, fancy teas and more!

Soaps, bath teas and bath salts make great stocking stuffers.  I’ve also made up some gift boxes, already wrapped!

Whenever I make wine soaps I use organic wines from Frog Pond Farm organic winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and for my beer soaps I use NickelBrook Organic Lager from Better Bitters Brewery in Burlington (try saying that one three times fast!!).  My goat milk is from Hewitt’s Dairy in Hagersville.  I like to use local ingredients when I can, and help support local businesses.

I promise I haven’t touched any product this week with all my germs!  I’ve been far too unwell to work on anything.  I’m down to the nuisance cough, tired, and my voice is still weird.  Next week I’ll be bouncing around, full of energy!

Makers’ Market begins this Friday morning, March 25, in the Guild Hall on Charlotte Street in Port Colborne, across the street from the Port Colborne Farmers’ Market.  I ‘ll be there with NonScents Soaps, with a whole new look to my display.

This year I will start selling NonScents Soaps at the Welland Farmers’ Market, under the big pavilion north of the new building.  This market runs every Saturday morning from 6 a.m. until noon.  I’ve been waiting for good weather (that means warmer weather) to begin.  Maybe this Saturday, March 26 will be the start, though the weather reports seem to be predicting rather chilly days yet.  If I don’t make it out on that day, I’ll be there the following week, on April 2.  From then on I plan to be there every Saturday.  I’m certainly looking forward to meeting lots of new friends in Welland, and hope to see my old friends there too!

The Curly Willow on Main Street in Port Colborne has reopened after a winter hiatus and will carry a small selection of my soaps as well.

I’ve been very busy changing just about everything except the one central important fact about my soaps.  They will still be all unscented.

I am a vendor at the Welland Farmers’ market this year, but I’m waiting for the weather to warm a little bit first .  I’ll make an announcement here before my first appearance at the market.  It runs every Saturday morning from 6 a.m. until noon, year round.

For short hair, use about 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water.  For long hair, make that 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of water.  There’s no need to be exact about this.

Use this rinse before shampooing to remove previous buildup, and to get the full conditioning value of my shampoo bars.  Or, if you wish, use this rinse after shampooing to remove excess conditioning, if you find my shampoos are too rich for your type of hair, or to add extra shine.

Massage well into hair and scalp, keeping eyes tightly shut.  (If you do get vinegar in your eyes, just rinse them well with clean water.)  Rinse thoroughly with water to remove all residues.  Once your hair is dry there should be no vinegar smell.
